Javanese Surinamese

Javanese Surinamese, by Eko Budhi Purwanto

This auratic artwork, which was created using the digital ink block technique, is entitled: “Suriname Javanese Tribe”.
Creator: Eko Budhi Purwanto.
This digital painting is dominated by red and violet, to expose physical and spiritual strength, as well as a high willingness to sacrifice, as happened to the ancestors of the Javanese Surinamese tribe.
The Javanese in Suriname are always exposed as an illustration of how strong immigrants can survive in foreign lands without getting a salary for years.
They deeply dive into the history of the nation, language and ethnicity, down to their children and grandchildren to this day.
The Javanese Surinamese, still continue to speak Javanese in their daily lives.
They don’t know who their ancestors are anymore, but they have referred to other immigrants as their relatives, even though they are not related by blood.
Strong, harmonious, and always polite, is the key to the success of the Javanese Surinamese.
This painting is dedicated to them, who may never be able to come and visit Java again.

Not for sale.
